Enjoy this year’s Fest Anča pandemic edition safe and sound from the comfort of your own device – getting your regular fix of the very best animation from the last two years. Fest Anča International Animation Festival’s 14th edition will take place exclusively online.

“We’d really been looking forward to the live festival in Žilina, but how the epidemic measures will be in July is still uncertain, which throws into doubt that an event of Fest Anča’s scope can be organised safely,” explains Ivana Sujová, Fest Anča’s director. “We’d been prepping for the festival all year, and the time came to decide whether our diverse programme would be doable live. We held back as long as we dared, but the COVID alert system for cultural events lifted protective measures a bit too late and set them a bit too unrealistically for us.”

So now our festival team’s pulling out all the stops to get Fest Anča alive and kicking online for the originally planned 1 – 4 July summer window. Animation lovers’ can follow their favourite films and compelling accompanying programme via an enriched online streaming platform.
Limited edition ticket holders can use their Fest Anča 2021 tickets for this year’s online festival, or use them next year instead.
This year’s festival theme is Traditions.
