This workshop will explore techniques of cameraless filmmaking such as direct ink/paint, sanding and bricolage with found film. Participants are encouraged to choose their own materials and tools, then scratch, paint and collage directly on the surface of clear leader, black leader or previously shot material. No prior experience is necessary.
Steven Woloshen has been passionately creating handmade abstract films and time-based installations for more than 30 years. He has been a lecturer, juror, technician, animator, craftsman and recently, the author of Recipes for Reconstruction and Scratch, Crackle & Pop, manuals for hand-made filmmaking, decay, renewal and other analogue film techniques.
